EN: LAPP Cup Zlín, the best European sledge hockey tournament, is approaching its 8th year. Will be named after Jaroslav Knedla

The event was determined to take place first week in September, scheduled from Thursday September 6 to Saturday September 8. This tournament that gains its prestige every year will carry a new name this year, a small change actually. The complete name of the 8th tournament shall be LAPP Cup Zlín 2018 – Jaroslav Knedla Memorial. Jaroslav Knedla was the first sledge hockey goalkeeper in Zlin and subsequently in the Czech national team. He died tragically in 2003. More about him will be brought to you later.

„We have positive replies from our sponsors again, we thank them very much. The LAPP Cup can take place again thanks to them, to many Tournament Comittee people and to the participating teams", says Petr Julina, the tournament CEO. "Currently, we work hard on the particular teams involvement, the names of which should be definite in two weeks," Julina adds a fills in that there is a maximum of eight teams participating in the tournament.

Due to the new extended name of the tournament, even its logo had to be adjusted a little by having been added an extra ring symbol.

LAPP Cup takes place in Zlin every September since 2011. It gains its prestige and indulges a great popularity among fans and media. Last year, the arena capacity of 529 visitors was sold out twice. Moreover, the game between the teams Zlin and Malmö was broadcast live on TV, which was for the first time ever that an international club-level sledge hockey has been broadcast live in the countrywide Czech TV.

"We accept the last year's pretty high challenge. Nevertheless, there is always a place for improvement. We already have some ideas," means Jakub Kudláč, the PR Manager of LAPP Cup.
